"Bargain 3 Star - The View Is Worth Every Penny!", October 20,2009.

I really like this hotel! Yes the decor is a little dated (it could do with some fresh paint and carpet) but it's not run down, dirty or in disarray in any way and for a 3 star I think it's quite a gem. The staff are very pleasant and helpful in that typical Thai way and it was no problem to ask for extra pillows/towels or directions/tips etc.
My partner and I stayed here twice one the way out and back from Cambodia (2 months apart). The first time we stayed in a standard room on the 18th floor. The room was large and clean, great view, the air-con was excellent (as in arctic) and everything was in working order. Matresses in asian countires tend to be like ironing boards with a towel over them but this matress was very comfortable and the bedding clean and new. The shower functioned perfectly and toiletries and towels were topped up daily.
When we returned, we pushed the boat and paid £50 per room per night for a Suite. Again, the decor was a bit old looking but the room was HUGE and as a corner room, had two walls to look out of the massive windows at the view of bangkok city and the old town.
The location is good for Chinatown but you will need to get tuk-tuks to the central area to explore. This didn't bother us though as they are fun and cheap.
More than anything though is the SKYLINE BAR. On the 24th floor is a roof top bar in and outdoors which takes in about a 270 degree view. Fantastic that you can pay so little and stand up there with Singha and spot all the temples you have seen that day.
All in all, for the price you pay, definately a bargain if you're on a budget!

I was in Bangkok for 2 nights, had very comfortable stay at Grand Ville. Its proximity to many tourist attractions and helping & polite staff gave me full satisfaction. You can easily get buses, taxis from just stepping out of the hotel. Also, their own travel desk is quite impressive. I could not get chance to try food out there, but breakfast had many good options. We being vegetarian, it was pleasant to find a indian dhaba in walking distance. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I found difficulty in conversing in English with local people like taxi / tuk tuk driver, its good if you can learn some thai lang in advance, may be few important words.

"Great Value for money", September 27,2009(Booked the couples)

We stayed at the Grande Ville on the first night of our honeymoon; we flew to Saigon the next day, so simply needed a cheap hotel which gave a chance to sample some of the many sights that Bangkok has to offer. I think the room cost us £24 for the night, and the cleanliness, amenities and service were all great for the price that we paid. Breakfast buffet in with the price was fine - pretty much what you get in all average SE Asian hotels...
Would definitely recommend - either for a quick stop (very close to some of Bangkok's most popular sights) or (as I saw no reasons to suggest otherwise) for a longer stay.

Grande Ville is a locally owned Thai hotel. It is a about 3 star. Rooms were reasonable size but the bathroom is very small (common in SE Asia) but even a small Thai person would not fit under the shower without crouching and the shower head is fixed. There is a bar on the top floor (23rd) and it has great views over Bangkok - I spent a fabulous hour there watching an electric storm of some power blast over the city. It was so good we got the staff to turn the lights off so we could watch better.
There is a Thai Massage spa on site. But the real attraction is the location on the edge of Chinatown and within easy walking of the major attractions (palace, Wats etc) even in Bangkok steamy heat.
There is pay wifi and Internet acess. I dont recommend the tours sold in the lobby. Beaause of the location you are picked up first (0645 in our case) and the bus then winds through Bangkok to other hotels before it starts the tour.

August 24,2009(Booked the Twin Superior room for 3 nights)

I liked their quality customer service, their ever accomodating staff, specifically our driver who also acted as our tour guide and the very nice English speaking lady, the hotel's Guest Service Manager. Most of all, my husband and I enjoyed our stay in the hotel, even our friends who joined us during our first trip to Bangkok. I love everything esp. the buffet breakfast!
